We recently circulated this letter from the DfE about elective home education (EHE) which sets out expectations of the role of local authorities (LAs); that we work closely with schools and parents / carers. We welcome the endeavours of the DfE and their aim that LAs and schools and parents work together in the best interest of every child.

With our LAs receiving an increasing number of notifications of children moving to EHE, we have also put together this response on behalf of SESLIP which has been sent to the DfE. We look forward to developing closer links between our CME Sub-group and the DfE.
