At SESLIP we are always on the look-out for good ideas that might be better implemented regionally rather than locally. If you have any suggestions, please contact Richard Tyndall, SESLI Programme Manager.

UPDATE NO 188 18 March 2016

Programme:

Topical Peer Challenge Round 9

Update:

Topical Peer Challenge Round 9 is now open. The detailed guidance is available here, and is largely unchanged from previous versions.

Windsor and Maidenhead (topic: Corporate Parenting) will be first in the field on 16 and 17 June

Kent (topic: tba) and Bracknell Forest (topic: LSCB) have also indicated they wish to participate

Action Required:

Southampton, Portsmouth and Medway all have commitments held over from Round 8 (Ofsted, staff changes and other impediments confounded our best laid plans). I look forward to hearing from these colleagues and others about whether or not they wish to join Round 9.

Please contact Richard Tyndall (details below) to register your interest.

Programme:

Data Benchmarking

Update:

Following the recent publication of the Workforce Benchmarking Data, it has been necessary (thanks to some eagle eyes at Medway) to issue a new version of the benchmarking report. The DfE calculation of Children in Need per Social Worker excludes Agency Social Workers – this is now clear in the report and we have added additional pages showing the figures recalculated to include Agency Social Workers.

Action Required:

The updated version (v2) was posted on Monday 14 March. Please make sure you are using the latest version.

Pdf or Excel versions can be downloaded from the freely available page of the Data Benchmarking Group
