State of the nation 2022: children and young people’s wellbeing

Action Required:

The trends presented in the report indicate that children and young people’s subjective wellbeing, measured annually, appears to have dipped in 2020 and recovered close to pre-pandemic levels by 2021, remaining at similar levels in 2022.

On 30 January LGA published SENsational Story and Play, a case study from Dorset Library Services.

Action Required:

Collaborating with Children’s Services in the LGA Family Hubs Peer Review, Dorset Library Service began to explore how we could develop our contribution to the Best Start in Life and Dorset Council’s: Our Children, Young People’s and Families Plan 2020-2023.

Update:

On 1 and 2 February DfE published updated national results for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5

Action Required:

The KS4 disadvantage gap index has widened compared to 2020/21, from 3.79 to 3.84. It is now at its highest level since 2011/12

Social Work England is promoting Social Work Week 20-24 March 2023 with the aim of bringing people together to learn, connect, and influence change.
