Children’s Social Care Workforce Benchmarking

Update:

The September 2015 report on the Children’s Social Care Workforce is now available in pdf and excel formats. 

Action Required:

The information is updated annually using data published by the DfE. It can be shared with external partners and members of the public. It available from the Data Benchmarking Freely Available reports page.

Memorandum of Understanding

Update:

Good progress has been made in finalising the MoC and Phase 2 (agency rate caps) will go live from 1 April 2016. The final version of the document is available by clicking on this link MoC V6 March 2016

Membership of the MoC Governance group has been agreed with Stuart Ashley (Hampshire and the Isle of Wight) and Amanda Radley (West Sussex) representing the Assistant Directors, with Lorna Hunt (Bracknell Forest) as a reserve. HR colleagues will be Sandy Gregory (Hampshire), Gill Rogers (Surrey) and Karen Ray (Kent).  Terms of reference for this group will be distributed shortly.   

 

Action Required:

Additional details in relation to individual authorities positions are being also being sent out today (through the AD Safeguarding and MoC Implementation Group mailing Lists). This includes which authorities have committed to the MoC and those that are yet to decide. It is important this information is accurate, as we are also in the process of preparing a press release that will be distributed shortly after the MoC goes live in April.   

Please can you ensure that the position of your authority is accurately represented when the MoC goes live on the 1st April 2016.

Coaching to Improve Performance – Train the Trainer 14 March

The last opportunity for LA’s who have participated in the in-house course to send along up to 5 delegates to our Train the Trainer Course designed to support LA’s to embed coaching within  their organisation.

We were delighted to hear from the East Sussex team who came on last year’s training that to date they have trained a further 106 colleagues.

Action Required:

This one day course  is aimed at ensuring LA’s will have the capacity and capability to deliver the two day ’Coaching to Improve Performance’ programme themselves and delegates will receive all the resources we use on the programme together with a training notes and the opportunity to practice the delivery of the programme.

Delegates should have attended the full two day programme and have training experience.
