Revised memorandum of cooperation on agency social workers – deadline for textual amendments Friday 21 January 17:00

The revised regional memorandum of cooperation on agency social workers has received a significant boost in a joint letter signed by DCSs from Southampton,  Surrey and West Sussex pledging their support for the new arrangements.

The coordinated signing day will be Friday 11 February, and the go live date is 1 April 2022. More information from Mark Evans (details below).

Reforming how local authority school improvement functions are funded

On 11 January 2022, DfE published its response to the consultation about the withdrawal of the School Improvement and Monitoring Brokering grant.

It includes the timetable for implementation of its withdrawal and flexibilities about some de-delegation reporting to ESFA in 2022.

KCSIE consultation on revisions for the 2022 edition

On 11 January, DfE launched a consultation on proposed revisions to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for the 2022 edition.

The closing date is 8 March 2022.
